Bio
Francisco A. Mejia was born in El Salvador and graduated from the Instituto Miguel De Cervantes where he earned his Bachelor of Letters and Sciences degree. He eventually made Los Angeles his home and began to take courses at the community college level, earning an AA in Fine Arts from Los Angeles City College in 2005. Soon after, he was accepted into USC, earning his Bachelor’s in Fine Arts - Studio Arts in 2010. He has received multiple community based awards for his artistic contributions from the Lynwood Coalition, CARECEN, CHIRLA, and honors from the City of Los Angeles in 1991 and 2013. Francisco has a personal artist style carried from his childhood. His artwork has a "honey" color wash to it. The tint is a reminder of his roots, his hometown where the family business was cultivating sugar cane and processing it into unrefined sugar known as a type of honey.
